Alcove columbine

A small columbine of desert hanging gardens, seeps and springs.

Alcove columbine grows in hanging gardens and around seeps and springs, the wet pockets of canyon country. Its small flowers are white, cream or pale blue, with spurred petals.

At Arches it blooms from mid-spring to late summer, roughly April through August.

Seeing it

Hanging gardens are fragile. Enjoy them from established trails and don't walk on the wet ground.
