Delano Peak

A summit in the volcanic Tushar Mountains, and mountain goat country.

Delano Peak stands on the Beaver–Piute county line in the Tushar Mountains, in Fishlake National Forest. Utah state history material lists 12,173 feet.

The Tushars are part of the Marysvale volcanic field. A rock unit is named for the peak: the Delano Peak Tuff, which USGS research ties to eruptions that formed the Big John caldera on the range's west side about 23 to 22 million years ago. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources identifies the area around Delano Peak and Mount Holly as core mountain goat habitat.
