Bonanza 5-acre site: design and strategy preferences (special meeting)

    Discussed · Bonanza 5-acre site

Staff from transportation planning opposed a second underground parking level, citing the Park City Forward plan and traffic; the garage was estimated at about $45.9 million, or $165,782 a stall over 25 years, needing $518 a month per stall against $232 at China Bridge. Council Member Rubell asked staff to pursue a shared or district-wide parking strategy; Council Members Ciraco and Dickey supported it and Council Member Toly opposed. Housing staff recommended moving forward with Brinshore's unit mix, though Council Member Rubell wanted Chamber and county workforce data first; staff was directed by consensus to bring that data back. Brinshore noted federal fair-housing limits on prioritizing local workers. The multi-arts space is about 1,800 square feet. The village green is 1.38 acres; Option 2 would cut units from 112 to 98. Council members indicated support for Option A, and Council Member Toly asked that two options go to the October 20 open house. Developer cost items above the city's $30 million commitment were listed, including $24,414,312 for second-floor parking. The minutes' figures differ from slide figures (554 stalls, $44,399,312 for lower levels, a 350-space garage in comment). No votes.
