2025 General Plan draft recommendations (joint work session)

    Discussed

The council and Planning Commission reviewed the updated draft, now shortened with an appendix, strategies under each theme, an executive summary and implementation sections, after three Planning Commission hearings. The planning director said the plan would run to 2035 and beyond and that aligning the code with it is the top priority after adoption. Commissioners differed on defined short- and long-term timeframes. Council Member Parigian said timelines would set the city up for failure; Council Member Rubell asked that funding be kept out of the plan and that wildfire and safety be better represented; Council Member Dickey asked for full-time residence data by neighborhood; Council Member Toly said second homeowners would not rank seasonal workforce housing highly. No action.
