Council retreat ranks transportation, core services and housing as top priorities; no votes

At a visioning retreat on March 1, 2024, facilitated by an outside consultant, the council ranked priority areas from highest to lowest: transportation, core services, housing, community, community development and planning, neighborhoods, economic development, recreation, sustainability, equity and organizational capacity. Members described 10-year visions including clean water, fewer cars, regional collaboration, completion of Bonanza Park, arts and culture and affordable housing. The council also heard lunch-and-learn presentations on mining history preservation and the Central Wasatch Commission and a review of Utah forms of government. No votes were taken beyond approving prior minutes.
