    Discussed

The Salt Lake City Housing Authority's executive director said there are 19 housing authorities in Utah, about 75 percent of his agency's revenue depends on federal funds, tax credit projects limit profit and affordability restrictions can last 35 years or more. He recommended a taskforce as the first step. Gerber favored a taskforce to evaluate all options; Dickey asked how a regional authority fits the city's policy of building only within city limits; county members asked about regional versus separate authorities. Housing staff from both governments will outline a taskforce and return at the next quarterly meeting.
