Site sign posting requirements for rezoning and land-use hearings (Title 21-36-2)
Approved · 4-3
Council Member Monica Zoltanski proposed an amendment to Title 21-36-2 of the Sandy Municipal Code requiring signs on a site before public meetings on rezoning and other land-use decisions. Jared Gerber, assistant director of Community Development, answered questions. Brooke D'Sousa agreed with the amendments but was concerned about including all variances in the sign policy. Kathy Spuck strongly supported the policy. Steve Van Maren said mailed notices need more lead time and suggested a mailer seven days in advance. Katie Johnson supported posting notice signs on sites. The motion moves the amendment forward and directs staff to begin the formal code amendment process. Council Members Kris Coleman-Nicholl, Marci Houseman and Cyndi Sharkey voted no.
