The June 10 work session, which started late at 4:14 p.m., covered final budget issues, a proposal to name the northeast baseball field at Riverside Park after the late Neil Draper, and an Airport Board appointment interview. The Design Review Standards briefing was moved to a later meeting because of time. Staff discussed the asset naming policy and concerns about naming facilities for individuals who later become controversial. Council Members asked that the policy include a clear process for renaming public assets if a namesake becomes controversial or no longer reflects community values. Action was tentatively set for July 8.

  4. Item 4 · Appointment

Board appointment interview: Airport Board, Jonathan Freedman

    Discussed

The Council interviewed Jonathan Freedman for a term ending June 10, 2029. Council Member Wharton said the name would be on that evening's consent agenda.
