Item B9 · Zoning
Zoning map amendment at about 704 East 900 South (public hearing)
Tabled · 7-0
The hearing covered a request to rezone 0.24 acres from R-2 to SNB so units added without permits can be brought up to code; the Planning Commission forwarded a negative recommendation. A speaker for a housing advocacy group urged flexible zoning and maximum use of the property. A neighborhood organization chair read a letter of support listing recommended considerations. Two residents opposed, citing parking and unintended consequences, and one raised concern about investors seeking zoning above what is typical for the neighborhood.
