Zoning
Rezone at 981 12th Street and 1245 Monroe Boulevard
Discussed
Deputy Planning Manager Joe Simpson said petitioner Jeremy Krause asked to move the zoning boundary between the Dylan's restaurant parcel and the R-3 parcel to its south so it follows the property line. The Planning Commission recommended approval March 6 on three conditions: a small subdivision plat to match the property line to the new zoning line; moving a row of parking out of the 10-foot west and 20-foot Monroe Boulevard landscaped setbacks; and a screened dumpster enclosure outside the setbacks, both through site plan review. Council members asked about parking, setbacks and preliminary site plans.
- Applicant: Jeremy Krause
- Planning Commission: recommended approval March 6, 2024, with three conditions
Zoning
Rezone of 6.9 acres at 605 North Jackson Avenue
Discussed
Planning Manager Barton Brierley said Ogden City Community Development petitioned to rezone 6.9 acres from R-1-6 to R-1-5 to allow slightly smaller single-family lots. The city bought 6.5 acres from the school district as surplus property and is buying the rest. The Planning Commission recommended approval after a May 1 hearing. Council Member Richard Hyer said the city made commitments to the school district board about the existing cul-de-sac and transportation improvements that he feels are not being honored. The council said residents can raise concerns with staff or the Planning Commission as the subdivision moves forward.
- Applicant: Ogden City Community Development
- Acres: 6.9
- Current zone to proposed: R-1-6 to R-1-5
- Planning Commission: recommended approval after May 1, 2024 hearing
