  1. October 1, 2026 · City Council

Sale of 13.53 acres to Box Elder School District

    Approved · 3-0

The council approved a resolution selling about 13.53 acres of city-owned land in the previously approved Brigham City School Subdivision, near the city's sports complex, to the Box Elder School District for a future elementary school. The mayor is authorized to sign the purchase agreement and closing documents. City Administrator Derek Oyler said the city and district worked on the deal for more than a year and that about 2,700 residential units are in various stages of development in the area, which makes added school capacity necessary as the west side grows.

Moved by Councilmember Troxell, seconded by Councilmember Jensen. Vote: 3-0 on roll call: Jensen, Hipp and Troxell yes
