Salina-Gunnison Airport runway pavement maintenance

The council approved a $500 donation toward a monument for the builder of Funk's Lake, now Palisade State Park.
Item 3 · utilities
Tarr Canyon well change order
Approved · 3-1
The council approved a second change order after the drilled casing became lodged twice at about 880 feet in a swelling formation; the borehole reached 1,030 feet. The city told the contractor it expects no more change orders for this issue. A third change order for well testing needs further discussion.
Item 4 · finance
Irrigation meter funds
Approved · 4-0
With about $430,000 of state-funded irrigation meter money unspent and a state deadline to submit expenses by the end of October, the council authorized up to $145,000 for a filter system, manual or semi-automatic. Other ideas included returning the money, adding meters, buying a hydrovac, or paying down a bond.
Item 5 · Roads and utilities
Innovation Park expansion design

The council moved forward with design of the Innovation Park expansion, including a skatepark, estimated at just over $600,000. The state is giving $440,000, trust lands $90,000 and Sanpete County an unexpected $25,000, with the city match budgeted.
