Politically neutral. Every candidate on this ballot gets the same sections. The party shown is the one the ballot lists. A section is missing only where we haven't yet found an official source for it. How we stay neutral
The Tribune reports that Travis Hysell, the Democratic challenger to Rep. Jon Hawkins in House District 55, wrote about the need for clean air, better transit, increased teacher pay and restrictions for data centers. [1]
In the survey, Hysell says the campaign takes no corporate PAC money, refuses lobbyist gifts and supports independent ethics enforcement. Hysell supports grocery tax relief, child tax credits, renter protections, union rights and public transit, and wants to fully fund public schools, raise teacher pay and reduce class sizes. Hysell says data centers must meet strict water and energy standards, use closed-loop cooling and receive no subsidies. Hysell opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. Hawkins did not respond to the Tribune's questionnaire. [1]
These are the candidate's own survey answers as printed by the Tribune, not checked by The Utah Ledger. [1]
