The District 5 race
Traci Crockett is the Republican candidate for Salt Lake County Council District 5 on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot, facing Democrat Sara Cimmers. The seat is open because Republican Sheldon Stewart withdrew from his reelection bid in January. The district includes all of Bluffdale and Riverton and parts of West Jordan, South Jordan, Herriman and Draper. [1]
The Salt Lake Tribune describes Crockett as a Realtor who once served as an at-large member of the Bluffdale City Council, which covered part of the district. [1]
Questionnaire
The Tribune sent both candidates the same questionnaire on affordability, government transparency, water, data center guardrails, accepting election results, cooperation with immigration enforcement and top priorities. The Tribune reports that Crockett did not respond to multiple requests and did not answer any of the questions, so this page does not describe her positions on those topics.
