In the candidate's own words

Sergio Sotelo says Sotelo has worked 15 years as a journeyman electrician and has also worked as a warehouse driver and construction worker. Sotelo is the elected treasurer of IBEW Local 354 and says Sotelo helped push a prevailing wage transparency bill in 2025 that did not pass. The campaign lists an endorsement from Stewardship Utah. [1]

In the survey, Sotelo criticizes the fast-tracking of a Box Elder County data center by an unelected board and says running unaffiliated means officials answer to constituents rather than party insiders and donors. Sotelo says the prevailing wage transparency bill would be a core priority if elected. On water Sotelo prioritizes clean air and water, starting with the Great Salt Lake, and opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. [1]
