Work

The Tribune's candidate questionnaire says Crosby works in the private sector as a director, project manager and consultant, according to his website, and is an adjunct professor in emergent and disruptive technology at Utah State University. [1]

In his own words: the Tribune questionnaire

On corruption and trust, Crosby says voters see officials enriching themselves in office and communities ignored on data centers, and that Congress is not checking executive overreach. His ethics proposals include banning stock and crypto trading for members of Congress, senior executive officials and their immediate families, a five-year lobbying ban for former members and senior staff, an enforceable judicial ethics code that covers the Supreme Court, overturning Citizens United, and removing corporate and dark money from politics. [1]

On affordability, he says he would assert Congress's constitutional authority and remove what he calls the broad tariff regime that he says hurts families, small businesses, farmers and ranchers. [1]

On water, he supports funding to restore aging water infrastructure, removing invasive phragmites along the Great Salt Lake shore, a leased water rights plan with federal funding, and simpler federal permitting for multi-agency projects. [1]

He answered Against on both Constitutional Amendment A, which would publish amendment text on state websites, and Amendment B, which would require 60 percent voter approval for citizen-proposed laws that raise taxes. [1]

My name is Peter Crosby, and I am focused on practical solutions for the biggest challenges facing Northern Utah: an affordability crisis that touches every part of our lives, protecting the Great Salt Lake and our public lands, and directly tackling corruption in our highest institutions. I do not accept corporate PAC donations or funding from PACs aligned with foreign interests, and want to get dark money out of our political system. I believe citizens of Northern Utah deserve a representative that lives in the district, listens to their concerns, and puts the people of Utah ahead of party or the pursuit of personal power. I am a husband, father of 3 daughters, a working professional with over 20 years of experience, and an educator rooted here in Northern Utah. I have two degrees in political science, both from Utah State University, where I am also an adjunct faculty member. I am deeply invested in ensuring the best interests of the community where I live, work, and pay taxes. I walk our communities and hold monthly in-person town halls so I can understand what you need me to help with. I hope I can earn your trust and your vote.
