In the candidate's own words

The Tribune reports that Kim James, the Democratic candidate in House District 8, recently retired after a decade as an ordained Methodist minister in Ogden. The campaign website says that work taught James what the people of the district value and what resources are available to them. Listed priorities include the environment, affordable health care and fiscal responsibility by state leaders. [1]

In the survey, James says Republican dominance in Utah has dismissed the people's needs in favor of corporations, and says James is not beholden to any corporate interests. James would stop spending taxpayer money fighting the will of the people in court, ease zoning for manufactured housing, eliminate the state portion of grocery taxes, abandon the Bear River Development Project and limit the power of MIDA and other unelected state boards. James opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. [1]
