In the candidate's own words
The Tribune reports that Karli Black, the Democratic challenger to Rep. David Shallenberger in House District 58, is a co-founder of a commercial real estate brokerage and is focused on affordability, especially in housing, access to early childhood education and air quality. [1]
In the survey, Black pledges to post every vote and meeting with lobbyists, refuse corporate PAC money and back independent ethics oversight. Black wants to cut red tape so starter homes and town homes are built faster, supports conservation that pays farmers to save water and getting more water to the Great Salt Lake, and names public education, including class sizes and special education, as a priority. Black opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. Shallenberger did not reply to requests to fill out the questionnaire. [1]
