Background, as reported

The Tribune's June 2026 profile describes Julie Jackson as a former teacher who serves on the Granite School Board, is president-elect of the Utah School Boards Association, and is also a small business owner and tech professional. [1]

In their own words: the Tribune questionnaire

The profile lists her priorities as reducing regulations on child care centers, giving developers incentives and cities more flexibility to build reasonably priced homes, raising the minimum wage, funding water conservation, opposing the proposed Box Elder County energy project while pursuing geothermal, solar and wind power, protecting the independent redistricting commission, funding lower courts to reduce backlogs, and changing education funding so schools rely less on local property taxes. These are her stated positions as reported, not Ledger conclusions. [1]
