Utah insurance commissioner
Jon Pike has served as Utah insurance commissioner since January 5, 2021. He came to the role after a career in health insurance and local government in southern Utah. [1]
Health care and St. George government
Pike worked for Intermountain Health from 1990 through 2020, including 26 years as Select Health's southwest Utah operations director. He also managed the design and construction project for St. George Regional Hospital from 1999 through 2003. [1]
Pike was elected to the St. George City Council in 2007 and served as the city's mayor from 2013 until January 2021. That mayoral service is separate from his current state appointment. [1]
Education
Pike earned a bachelor's degree in finance at the University of Utah and an MBA at Westminster University, according to the Insurance Department. [1]
