Jesse Grover was elected to Blanding’s City Council in 2025 and is not listed on the council’s Oct. 27, 2026 agenda. He teaches social studies at San Juan High School. In his signed 2025 candidate statement, he described teaching history, government and student leadership. He also reported seven years working for a locally operated Blanding business. Grover connected his decision to seek office with encouraging civic participation through education. His campaign priorities included recreation opportunities and locally driven economic development; the school’s staff directory confirms his teaching position.
Minutes in the council's meeting packets show members chose Herring over other applicants 4-1 on Sept. 22 and picked Laws 3-1 to fill a council vacancy on Oct. 13.
