Career
The county's biography says Jaeger has been Washington County Attorney since 2025 and spent about 23 years as a prosecutor, handling cases from Justice Court to general crimes and, most recently, Special Victim's Unit cases that he still handles personally. It also says he worked earlier as a deputy sheriff and as an FBI agent, without dates, and attended Dixie College. Awards it lists are the Honorary Sheriff's Award, the St. George Police Department Chief's Award and the Washington City Service Award. [1]
How he got the job
The Washington County Commission named Jaeger to the post in August 2025, according to coverage of the appointment, and he joined the county attorney's office in 1999 under then-County Attorney Eric Ludlow. Because he was appointed, the November election is his first before voters for the office. [2] [1]
The 2026 race
Edward Flint is the other candidate for Washington County Attorney on the Nov. 3 ballot. His BallotReady profile lists the June 23 primary and November general election and no work history, education or positions. [3]
