Heidi Hammond is a lifelong Grantsville resident who served on the City Council before becoming the city’s first woman mayor in January 2026. As a council member in 2024, she organized a Main Street beautification project that placed 32 large flower planters along the roadway. She cultivated hundreds of seedlings, coordinated with volunteers and consulted the local high-school agriculture teacher about suitable plants. She also sought donations from local businesses to help support the project.
In February the council set a $50 million ceiling for sewer revenue bonds for a wastewater plant. An April rate study assumed about $25.2 million in private bonds and a $16 million state loan. The records do not say what has been borrowed.
