Politically neutral. Every candidate on this ballot gets the same sections. The party shown is the one the ballot lists. A section is missing only where we haven't yet found an official source for it. How we stay neutral
Tanner is the budget manager in the Utah County Auditor's Office and holds a master's degree in accounting, the Lehi Free Press reported in March 2026. She entered the race after Auditor Rod Mann said he would not seek reelection. [2]
In the paper's February candidate profile she said her accounting education gives her extensive knowledge of government accounting standards. She described budgeting experience, more than 10 years managing teams and 20 years serving Utah County residents. She also described herself as a lifelong county resident. These are her own statements. [3]
Priorities
Her campaign centers on what she calls budgeting discipline and process refinement. She backs a target-based budgeting model in which departments tie extra funding to defined services or programs, and she supports automating tax-rate inputs while keeping human oversight, with procedures documented before automation grows. [2]
In February she listed transparency and accountability for every tax dollar, responsible budgeting, rigorous oversight and efficiency-focused modernization that does not disrupt operations. These are campaign positions, not an adopted policy. [3]
The nomination and the November race
Tanner won the Republican nomination for auditor at the Utah County Republican convention on April 18, 2026, taking 68.52 percent in the second round of voting, the Daily Herald reported. [4]
The state candidate list shows her facing Independent American candidate Hans V. Andersen in the general election on Nov. 3. [1]
