Cheryl Cox’s background includes school counseling, service on the Garfield County School Board and community arts leadership in Boulder. Utah State University’s Utah Women & Leadership Project identifies her as a former school counselor, a participant in the Boulder Wellness Network and president of the Boulder Arts Council before becoming mayor. A 2025 arts profile documented her role in the council’s development from the Boulder Heritage Festival into year-round programming. That work included exhibitions, classes and support for local artists and arts experiences.
