In the candidate's own words
The Tribune reports that Brett Nielsen, the Democratic challenger to Rep. Leah Hansen in House District 51, is an information technology professional who grew up in rural Idaho, according to the campaign website. [1]
In the survey, Nielsen says the platform would reduce corporate and data center tax breaks, rein in the Military Installation Development Authority and stop funding cuts to public schools. Nielsen would allow higher-density housing without public infrastructure districts, incentivize pre-K and before- and after-school programs, and pause the state's share of the grocery and fuel tax while prices are high. Nielsen would halt new data center construction until the drought ends and its impact is known. Nielsen opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. Hansen did not respond to the questionnaire. [1]
