Austin Anderson was appointed to the St. George City Council in January 2026. His city profile says he was born in Provo and raised in Idaho Falls, began his career as a carpenter, and has owned and operated AJ Construction in St. George for more than three decades. He served nearly six years on the St. George Planning Commission. The city lists his council assignments as Community Development liaison, the Habitat Conservation Advisory Committee, the Mosquito Abatement Board, the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center Board, the Washington County Flood Control Board and the Washington County Solid Waste Administrative Control Board. His council term ends in January 2028.
At its Oct. 22 meeting the council paused a plan to drop commercial space from a 49.3-acre Highway 18 neighborhood, approved moving Ledges units within a 2,600-unit cap, and added personal instruction uses at a Mall Drive office site.
