Utah Legislature

Medical Cannabis Governance Structure Working Group

3 senators and 3 representatives · 2 Democratic, 4 Republican

What the law says it does

Utah Code 36-12-8.2 directs the Legislative Management Committee to establish the working group with six members of the Legislature. The group may work with industry, patients, medical providers and others to review the state's governance structure for medical cannabis, study how other states regulate it through state agencies, and make recommendations to the Health and Human Services Interim Committee or the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee before or at the October interim meeting. The code page notes that the section is affected by the sunset schedule in 63I-2-236 on July 1, 2027.
