BYU men's basketball routs Omaha 108-67 as Jazz fall 112-100 at Dallas

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Utah Jazz 112-100 on Friday at the American Airlines Center in an NBA Cup group-play game. ^[1][2][3]

The teams were tied 57-57 at halftime. Dallas outscored Utah 32-19 in the third quarter to lead 89-76 and stretched the lead to 18 early in the fourth. ^[1][3]

No. 25 BYU beat Omaha 108-67 on Friday at the Marriott Center in its home opener to improve to 2-0. ^[5][6][8]

Six Cougars scored in double figures. Robert Wright III led with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting, Tyler Betsey made 6 of 8 3-pointers for 18 points, and Collin Chandler scored 18 on 6-of-7 shooting. Bruce Branch III had 17 points and 6 rebounds, Jaxon Kohler had 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Jake Wahlin added 10. ^[5][8]

BYU led wire to wire and outscored Omaha 31-0 on fast breaks, the Associated Press reported. The Cougars shot 56% from the field, made 16 of 35 3-pointers and committed 8 turnovers. Deke Thompson scored 17 for Omaha, which fell to 1-1. ^[5][8]
