Mountain Town Music will present its Celebration of Southern Rock at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at The Marquis in Park City, The Park Record reported. The concert is the third annual community jam presented by the nonprofit and leads into Live PC Give PC, Park City's day of giving, set for Nov. 6. [1]
Park City singer Kate Chanson is the line producer and also performs in the house band, which includes keyboardist Nick Chamberlain, drummer Matt Wilson, bassist Ray Rosales and guitarist Rylee McDonald. Chanson said producer Junior Richard of The Cabin is the overall visionary and supplied the set list. Ryan Walsh, the nonprofit's director of community engagement, will narrate the show. [1]
Chanson is slated to sing "Midnight in Harlem" by the Tedeschi/Trucks Band and "Piece of My Heart," as performed by Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company. She said the show is working with a nonprofit budget and that the musicians are not performing for money. [1]
"It kicks off all of this generosity aimed toward our community," Chanson said of the concert. [1]
