Willard Peak

The northern Wasatch crest north of Ben Lomond, with old mine workings on its west side.

Willard Peak stands on the northern Wasatch crest at the Box Elder–Weber county line, north of Ben Lomond. State water-resource publications give 9,764 feet.

Geologic mapping of the area shows Cambrian limestone and quartzite and older rock. The Utah Geological Survey describes mine workings west of the peak, including the Eldorado or Alvarado Mine, opened in 1898. The Forest Service lists Willard Basin's tall-forb meadows for protection. A high road reaches the area but does not lead to the summit.
