Mount Timpanogos

Mount Timpanogos rises above Utah Valley in Utah County. UDOT lists its summit at 11,752 feet; the National Park Service uses 11,750. The summit area is Mount Timpanogos Wilderness, managed by the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Timpanogos Cave National Monument sits on the mountain's north side, and a cave tour ticket is not a summit permit.
The mountain is part of a folded belt of Paleozoic carbonate rock, with glacially carved basins. Its modern hiking tradition includes the annual Timp Hike promoted by Eugene "Timp" Roberts. The National Park Service traces the "Legend of Timpanogos" to Roberts's early 20th-century writing and performances, not to Indigenous tradition.
The Timpooneke and Aspen Grove trailheads are the established starting points for the summit. Parking, fees and the seasonal Alpine Loop road are posted by UDOT and the Forest Service.
