Communal

A downtown Provo restaurant built around one long shared table, open since 2009.

Communal opened in downtown Provo in September 2009, founded by Joseph McRae and Colton Soelberg, according to BYU's Daily Universe at the time. The restaurant says it seats 45, with a communal table for 20 and a private room for 10.

It serves brunch and dinner. The October 2026 daytime menu included tater-tot poutine with local cheese curds, pork-belly adobo, a falafel waffle and a Korean fried-chicken sandwich.
