UTOPIA Fiber builds and operates fiber-optic infrastructure for Utah communities. Its open-access model separates the physical network from retail internet service: UTOPIA supplies the fiber connection, while participating internet service providers offer service over that network. [1]

The Murray-based organization is owned by participating cities and connects both homes and businesses. Customers check whether an address is available, choose among participating providers and arrange installation through the network's process. The model gives multiple providers a way to serve customers over shared local infrastructure. [1]
