Utah Food Bank describes its mission as fighting hunger statewide. It reports distributing 57.8 million meals in its most recent year through a network of 390 partner agencies in all 29 Utah counties, and says it is one of only a handful of food banks that provides food to partner agencies free of charge. It also runs direct programs aimed at children and seniors, including Kids Cafe, Mobile School Pantry and a diaper program. [1]

The organization began in 1904 as the Salt Lake Charity Association and was later renamed several times, becoming the Community Services Council in 1961 and Utah Food Bank Services in 2006. A multi-year expansion that began in 2021 and finished in June 2024 added facilities, and the group now moves food from warehouses in Salt Lake City, Springville, St. George and Blanding and operates four pantries, in Hurricane, Blanding, Montezuma Creek and Monument Valley. The meal and agency figures are the organization's own, as published on its website. [1] [2]
