The agency says that since 1967 it has stabilized people's lives by meeting basic needs during crises, in Utah, Wasatch and Summit counties. It operates from Provo, Heber, Oakley and Coalville. [1]

Its programs fall into three groups: housing help such as rental and utility assistance, emergency shelter, a warming center and The HART Apartments; food and nutrition, including food pantries and community gardens; and education and support, including financial learning, homebuyer education, eviction prevention and a commercial kitchen. The food bank is one part of a wider agency. [1]
