Kaysville council cancels the Nov. 3 fire station bond election

October 7, 2026, 7:00 p.m. · Council Chambers, Kaysville City Hall, 23 East Center Street

At a special meeting Oct. 7 the council acted to cancel the Nov. 3 special bond election on up to $16.5 million in general obligation bonds for a second fire station, according to the meeting agenda and KSL reporting. Ballots were already printed and many mailed; the mayor said votes cast on the question would be null and void. Residents had complained that no argument against the bond had been published, which a 2025 state law requires the city to allow. The city expects the question to return on the November 2027 ballot. The council had held the bond hearing Oct. 1.
