Scott Bartholomew chairs the Sanpete County Commission. He earned an associate degree in electronics from Southern Utah State College, now Southern Utah University, in 1975. His telecommunications career was with Gunnison Telephone Company, where he began working as a teenager. Before county office, he served on Fayette’s city council and as its mayor. Bartholomew was appointed to the county commission in December 2013 to fill the seat vacated when Jon Cox moved to the Utah House of Representatives.
At its Oct. 6 meeting the commission approved election equipment with a $25,000 state reimbursement, cut the planning commission from seven members to five in 2027, and approved a $161,291.52 junior livestock payout.
