Heber City Council and Main Street work
KPCW reports that Kahler is executive director of the Community Alliance for Main Street and previously served on the Heber City Council. When she first ran for that council in 2019, KPCW's candidate profile said she worked in marketing for Midway Ice Castles after six years as marketing and event manager for the Heber chamber of commerce, and that she holds a public relations degree from the University of Utah. The same 2019 profile lists her service on the Heber Envision 2050 steering committee and her work growing community events. [3]
Priorities and the race
KPCW reports that Kahler names growth, transportation and historic preservation as her top issues, and is also mindful of water use and the county's agricultural identity. She told the station she would ask tough questions if elected and wants representatives to seek out experts as well as listen to the public. In 2019 she said her top priority was infrastructure for growth, including the Heber Valley Parkway project, and told KPCW "I think we need more than one road." These are her own statements. [1] [3]
Kahler won the Republican primary over William "Brett" Vance, 51% to 49%, a result made official at the county canvass on July 1, 2026. The seat covers the whole county. Democrat Patrick Saucier withdrew on Aug. 31, and the Democratic Party named Robert McNeill to take his place on the ballot; two write-in candidates, Jami Hewlett and Shawn Taylor, also filed.
