Background, as reported

The Tribune reports that Kendra Penry is executive director of the Stokes Nature Center in Logan, according to her website. It lists no prior office or education. [1]

In their own words: the Tribune questionnaire

Penry wrote that she would propose term limits, campaign finance reform and voter approval of legislative raises. On affordability, she called the problem complicated and proposed eliminating the state sales tax on food and examining zoning laws. On water, she wrote that the state must act now to save the Great Salt Lake, noting that water shares are overallocated, and supported buying water rights and expanding xeriscape incentives. Her other priority was a representative democracy that defends everyone's participation, including opposing efforts to restrict ballot initiatives and supporting a non-gerrymandered map. [1]

The candidate answered against on Constitutional Amendment A (publishing proposed amendments on state websites) and against on Amendment B (60 percent voter approval for citizen initiatives that raise taxes). [1]
