In the candidate's own words

The Tribune reports that Jeffrey Lipe is the Democrat challenging two-term Republican Rep. Neil Walter in House District 74, which covers much of southwestern Washington County, including Santa Clara and Ivins. Lipe describes being a retiree in the survey. [1]

In the survey, Lipe would expand Utah's First-Time Homebuyers Assistance Program, eliminate the food tax, replace the flat income tax with one where high earners pay proportionally more and phase in a minimum wage tied to a percent of living wage. Lipe wants data centers and other large projects to support themselves without taxpayer subsidies, would phase in stricter water conservation and defend voting by mail and citizen ballot initiatives. Lipe opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. [1]
