In the candidate's own words

The Tribune reports that House District 72 covers eastern Washington County, including gateway communities near Zion National Park. Rep. Joseph Elison, the Republican incumbent, is being challenged by Constitution Party candidate April Pinkston and Democrat Eva Weldon. [1]

In the survey, Pinkston lists election integrity as a corruption concern and promises to vote according to the Utah and U.S. constitutions. Pinkston says government should lower permit costs and impact fees and would try to lower property, income and sales taxes. Pinkston would try to pass a law giving people control of water rights on their own property, and criticizes the School Attendance Modifications bill, saying parents have the right to decide whether to homeschool and that decisions about cell phones in the classroom belong to parents and teachers, not the government. Pinkston is against Amendment A and for Amendment B. Elison did not answer the Tribune's questions. [1]

These are the candidate's own survey answers as printed by the Tribune, not checked by The Utah Ledger. [1]
