H.B. 95: Public Employee Gender-specific Language Requirements
2026 General Session · Originating chamber: House
What the bill does
Did not pass both chambers; the bill was filed on March 6, 2026.
It would have barred a public employer, school district or the State Board of Education from disciplining an employee for using gender-specific language in certain circumstances, and would have exempted employees from discipline when a workplace policy required such language to accommodate someone else. It never reached a floor vote: a House committee returned it to the Rules Committee, and it was filed on March 6, 2026.
