The Salt Lake Tribune reported that "Will Ski 4 Food," a documentary about the late Ogden cameraman Gary Nate and the Ogden-based freestyle skiers he filmed, is scheduled to premiere Friday, Oct. 16, at Snowbasin Resort. [1]

Nate worked for nearly 40 years as a cameraman for Warren Miller Entertainment and died in 2024. Before his death, he donated most of his film reels and photos to the University of Utah. His film "Skiers to Match the Mountains," mostly shot at Snowbasin, supplied much of the vintage footage in the new documentary, the Tribune reported. [1]

Nate's son, Colby Nate, 53, sold his software engineering company last year and directed the film with River Hyde and Rob Tovar. They finished it in nine months, which Colby Nate said was faster than the roughly two years such a project typically takes. The film features Ogden-area skiers including Robert Young, Doug Coleman and Bob Salerno. [1]

Tickets for the Snowbasin premiere are available at WillSki4FoodFilm.com. Colby Nate said he hopes to "take this on the road" but has not secured other venues, and the filmmakers plan to enter the documentary in several film festivals. [1]
