Moab was a uranium boomtown in the 1950s; today it lives on the outdoors. Arches National Park is five minutes north, the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point State Park are about 40 minutes away, and the Colorado River runs right past town.
Spring and fall are the best seasons. Summer days regularly top 100 degrees, and winter is quiet and cold but beautiful. Book lodging early for spring weekends.
