Utah Lake covers about 148 square miles, making it one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in the West. The state park, at the lake’s eastern shore in Provo, offers boating, fishing and paddling, with the Wasatch Front rising behind.
The lake is shallow and warms quickly in summer. Fishing for channel catfish, walleye and white bass is popular, and sunsets over the western mountains are excellent.
