Deseret News

Deseret News is a Utah news publisher with a website, print offerings and Deseret Magazine. Its own statement of purpose emphasizes journalism about faith, family and related public issues. The publisher has adapted its products across formats, allowing readers to encounter its work through daily digital coverage and longer-form publications. [1]

The organization identifies The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as its owner while describing its editorial decisions as independent. That ownership and its stated values are part of understanding the publication’s identity. In Utah’s media economy, its business connects reporting and editing with the production and distribution of several distinct news products. [1]
